Why Use Kidney Suet Tallow For Skincare
Not all tallow is created equal. All of our products excluding our soaps are made with grass-fed,
grass-finished kidney suet tallow which is superior for skincare as it
contains notably higher levels of beneficial nutrients like omega-3 fatty
acids, vitamins A, D, E, and K, and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), which
enhance skin health and hydration. This type of tallow closely mirrors human
sebum, making it highly compatible and effective for moisturizing without clogging pores.
It aids in the production of collagen helping to enhance skin elasticity,
making it appear firmer and more youthful while also helping to speed up the
skins natural healing process. It works with our sebaceous glands and doesn't

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GRASS-FED, GRASS-FINISHED KIDNEY SUET TALLOW AND GRASS-FED, GRASS-FINISHED REGULAR BEEF TALLOW?
Both share similar core benefits, but differ significantly in nutrient density, purity, texture, and odor. Kidney suet is widely considered the "gold standard" for premium tallow skincare due to its superior quality.
Kidney Suet Tallow: Higher concentration of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K2), conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), and Omega-3s. Very mild, neutral, and practically odorless once rendered. Naturally lower in impurities.
Regular Beef Tallow: Excellent moisturizer, but contains lower overall concentrations of these vitamins. May have a noticeable "beefy" scent. Requires more extensive filtering and rendering to remove excess moisture, proteins and odor.
Since pasture raised cows produce fat that is significantly higher in vitamins and beneficial acids, we only use grass-fed, grass-finished regular beef tallow to make our soaps.
