Our Story

To become “activated,” the charcoal goes through a high temperature steam
activation process. This process increases its surface area, which increases the charcoal’s ability to absorb and filter. This makes activated charcoal the proper choice for medical and cosmetic use. It works by drawing out impurities, controlling oil, exfoliating, and calming breakouts. Activated charcoal in soap helps support healthier-looking skin without relying on harsh synthetic ingredients.

We used locally sourced beeswax which is a natural ingredient with numerous advantages for skin health. It is known for it's anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Beeswax can calm redness and irritation, making it beneficial for sensitive skin. Beeswax is rich in vitamin A and has been proven to promote cell generation. It helps your skin to heal faster while creating a barrier between your skin and the surrounding environment without clogging your skin's pores. The locally sourced Beeswax has a subtle, sweet scent reminiscent of honey, often described as warm and comforting.

They can be quite helpful in treating long-term conditions like psoriasis, eczema, and acne as well as shielding your skin from UV damage and pollution.

• Omega-6 (Conjugated Linoleic Acid):

Help with skin barrier repair and hydration by directly integrating into the skin's lipid barrier, which eliminates flaky, dry skin and helps prevent transepidermal water loss (TEWL). Many people who are prone to acne have low levels of linoleic acid in their sebum, which thickens the oil and clogs pores. Topical use of omega-6 thins sebum, balances oil production and helps prevents breakouts. Along with reducing inflammation by influencing the skin's signaling molecules to calm visible redness and sensitivity, making it highly effective for soothing and restoring the skins natural barrier in conditions like eczema or dermatitis.

 

Cows raised on a natural, pasture-based diet produce fat with a superior nutrient profile. Conventionally raised grain-fed cattle are often exposed to antibiotics and growth hormones, which can transfer into their fat reserves. Grass-fed cattle, on the other hand, are less likely to be exposed to such substances and contain a much larger concentration of healthy essential fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals. The cattle's natural diet, enables them to keep these advantageous substances in their fat reserves, which is directly responsible for this improved nutrient profile.

Offering broad spectrum sun protection without the toxic chemicals found in conventional sunscreens. This ingredient also supports tissue regeneration and enhances collagen synthesis, while aiding in the recovery of minor cuts and abrasions.

This is a necessary soap making ingredient used in the production of natural cold process and hot process soap bars. Lye is a very-alkaline product that has been used to make soap for decades. It comes from natural sources like clay and limestone. It is 100% pure sodium hydroxide, which can make all sorts of things like detergent, laundry detergent, or deodorant products. The chemical processes that take place later in the soap making process, known as saponification, neutralizes the lye in the soap while activating its cleansing power, despite the fact that this may sound strange to add to soap. 

We use lye during our soap making process for the following reasons:

1. It's the most natural approach to create soap.
2. By using pure lye, we avoid the use of any synthetic compounds that may irritate skin or trigger allergies.
3. Lye produces soap with strong natural cleansing qualities, making it an amazing bar of soap made by hand!

So, do our soaps contain lye? No, the finished product does not contain any lye but lye is used in our soap making process.
